Meloney Moore: On the Magic of Marketing, the Lessons of Lateral Moves, and Preparing Beauty Leaders

Meloney Moore, associate chair of The Business of Beauty and Fragrance department at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), joins this week's podcast to discuss how she leveraged her experiences at fashion brand Liz Claiborne, to Toys 'R Us, and spirits company Diageo, to break into beauty at the Estee Lauder Companies. She tells us why global marketing is a lot like being the Secretary of State. We discuss how her interest in education, which started as a volunteer pursuit, morphed into a full-time SCAD role. Meloney tells us how she helped build the curriculum and why she is excited about the young professionals she's preparing to enter the industry.

Meloney Moore is a dynamic educator and marketing professional and currently leads the Business of Beauty and Fragrance program at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Moore’s passion for teaching and innovation has resulted in a unique and engaging classroom learning setting that has developed into a “funnel of creative talent” for the Beauty industry. Before joining SCAD, Moore has over 17 years of experience spanning four different industries building global brands and engaging retail experiences for companies such as Estee Lauder, Toys ‘R Us, Diageo, and Liz Claiborne. 

Moore has been featured in Glamour, Elle, and Dazed. Moore holds a B.A. in marketing and government from the University of Notre Dame and an M.B.A. from Cornell Universit
